Two problems:
1. I wouldn't play it if it was pay per month out of sheer principle. Sorry HH, I am a loyal rune fan, unless you go MMO.
2. All MMO's suck. I don't see a way to keep it to an MMO format, without destroying what makes Rune Rune. As soon as you add levels, it is no longer skill based and no matter the physics, the combat becomes as boring as every other MMO.
I wouldn't mind an online Rune world, but introduce MMO elements ( that you really need to have a successful MMO) like levels, skills, etc and it becomes not rune.
Sorry, I don't see any way for them to make it a MMO that is successful and a good game at the same time...
