Talking Rune and DMH Tournaments at GenCon

We're having another Rune tournament at GenCon this year as well as a Dead Man's Hand PC tournament as well. GenCon is being held in the Indianapolis Convention Center Thursday, August 19th through Sunday, August 22nd. You can learn more about GenCon at www.gencon.com.

An official post about this is going out later today, and when it does, I'll repost it here, but I wanted to give you all the heads up.

The tournaments will cost $9 and are being run by GenCon LLC and sponsored by Human Head Studios and ATI. The one fee will get you into the entire tournament, which will be a three round, single elimination affair, with the top players advancing to the next rounds.

The prizes are again being offered by ATI, and they are a spanking new 9800 Pro card for each tournament.

If you don't win at the Rune and DMH tournament, you still have one more chance to win- we are releasing our new board game Dracula's Revenge at the Green Ronin booth in the exhibitor's hall at the show. If you go play a demo (it takes about 20-30 minutes) you will be entered into a daily drawing for an ATI graphics card. Each day a different card will be given away. We have another 9800 Pro that we will give away on Saturday, a 9600 on Friday and a 9200 on both Thursday and Sunday.

The drawing will be held at 3:30pm each day and you have to be present to win.

If you have questions on the running of the tournament itself, you should address them to Matt Forbeck at mforbeck@humanhead.com, but keep in mind that the actual tournament is being run each day by GenCon LLC and they are already in Indianapolis setting up the show, so Matt may not be able to answer specific details. I do know that they will be straight up death match tournaments with the highest number of kills being the scoring method. Which maps will be up to the person running the show at the show floor, but they will be from the original Rune and HOV only, and the original DMH only (no player maps).

We didn't get confirmation from ATI until quite recently, so we apologize for the late notice of this.

Did moone just misquote himself?

I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone do that before. Nicely done, take a bow

Anyway, hope there's good participation at the tourneys in Gen Con. Would have loved to be there to defend the title, but we already shot our travel budget $$$ going to Texas earlier this summer.

Last year's trip to Indy was a blast. The 9800 Pro is still humming along nicely one year later, and silver, plastic Conrack is parked next to my CD case to remind me of it.

Any word on any "other events" planned, Tim? Madison's less than 2 hours from here on the new and improving U.S. 151.

That's great to hear, Tim. When you get even a ballpark idea of when, let me know and I'll pass the word, too.
